On Tuesday, we journeyed back in time 112 years ago to the one room school house of Schoolmarm Smith. Schoolmarm Smith taught us to sit up straight in our desks and to write with quills and ink. So, really we just traveled by bus to the History Room at the Kirby Smith center. The History Room is a 112-year-old classroom, with some slight modifications (like lights with lightbulbs instead of lanterns with candles). After learning about being a student at the turn of the century, the class acted as detectives in the hall to do some sleuthing for clues. The bulletin boards in the hallway are full of photographs and information about Gainesville in the late 1800s and early 1900s. We had a great time.

My favorite part was wened the grils have to wear dress. We donot get smackn now.And we donot have to wear them dress.we have desk to rigt on.IT WAS THE BEAST FILL TRIP EVER

My favorite part was when I seen the sligshot.It was diffent because you get wake with a stick and not reagsl close.It was simaler because their is school and their close, you can wirte,read ,spell words
I like the cyber smith was fun and all but the most object i like the most was the slingshot.Iliked it becuse the kids from a long time ago.they left there toy frum a long time ago for us to see in the futrue.And another we did was dress up and sit in the class they went in 112 years ago and the seats were stuck together and rote with ink with an feather.I was a bitfun.
I had lots of fun. it was a good feld trip.i liked the sling shot i did not know how to make the sling shot.i did not like finding the clues.i liked writeing with the ink.i did not want to get hit by the stick.the desk were stuck to- gather.i loved eating out side.the stuff that were different was the class it was very old.the stuff that was the same are the desk we have desk too.THAT WAS THE BEST FELD TRIP IN THE WORLD!
The trip was kinda fun aaah I cant fake it. It was awsome.My two favorite things were the sling shot and the thing were it zooms in at the boy getting smacked with a ruler on the butt. I was not there but i bet you had great time being at the kirbysmith and they had the schoolmarm and you seen kirbysmith and he taught you how to sit up in youre desk and write with quills and ink and it was bulltin boards on the wall with informaition on it and I bet you had a great great time! and life was diffrent than now
My favortie part of the trip is that I saw the sligshot and the piture of the man giving the boy hit on the bottom.Life 122 year ago was differt from now is that you get hit with a stick,your desk is stuck together.Life in 122 year ago was simlar from now is that you have desks and you get to write read and speel.
I like alot of the things that i seen at kirby smith .these are the things that i liked .i liked that we wore dreeses though class from back in 1970`s.we wrote in kursuve with a feather on top of it.we ate outside the kirby smith center.we the boys wearing there callers and suspenders,and the girls were wearing pinafores there like dresses .i like the sling shoot i wish i can sling it one day ,and i saw the marbles made out of clay ,and the school merm dress was made out of cloth .i thought that it was very amazing , and it was very fun to me ,and i like the field trip ,and anagin may i say i like the school merm.
